[August 2019 update: This quickly sold out. We will repeat it in 2020.]

On August 20-23 2019 (Tuesday to Friday) we’re taking 30 people to experience the magnificent chaos that is the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Partnering with New York’s Future of StoryTelling Summit, we’ll take over a beautiful 17th-century castle outside Edinburgh so that we have an oasis of calm to return to after each day’s cornucopia of performances. We’ll use our arts-media network to get tickets to shows that stimulate and intrigue, but we’ll also make time for spontaneity, for you to find and drop into some of the off-beat, unique offerings that make the fringe so special. Our team has designed this adventure to balance the guided and critically filtered with the utterly unpredictable, so you experience the festival at its best.

This is also a gathering of amazing participants from around the world, and we’re planning a range of activities that will ensure you get to make close new friends. We’ll savour the day’s adventures over dinner at some of Edinburgh’s most charismatic restaurants, after which you can retire to the castle for late-night games and storytelling, or continue to make merry until the last shuttle home. We’ll also be bringing some of the festival’s most gifted visiting artists to our castle to connect and create with us. Throughout the adventure, you’ll enjoy a Voyagers take on the Edinburgh lifestyle — from a hike up Arthur’s Seat to a guided whisky tasting, stargazing and a ceilidh.

We are limited strictly to 30 places. Couples are welcome to apply.

TO APPLY TO PARTICIPATE: Please complete this form.

YOUR COMMITMENT: You must be available to be with us in Edinburgh from the afternoon of Tuesday August 20 until the afternoon of FridayAugust 23 2019.

THE COST: We are offering places to this not-for-profit adventure at cost. Our goal is to build meaningful community, not to make money from these trips. • All meals: castle breakfasts, seated dinners and lunches for all three days

  • The welcome drinks reception

  • All drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, taken with the group

  • Tickets for three recommended shows each day on Wednesday and Thursday (if you still have capacity for more, our team will be on hand to help you to obtain tickets to additional shows at cost)

  • All scheduled activities, including whisky tasting, hikes, and a special creative workshop with visiting artistic talent

  • All transport between Winton Castle and Edinburgh for the duration of the scheduled adventure (you will need to arrange your own travel to and from Edinburgh)

  • The gift pack (save some luggage space to take it home)

  • The services of the production team

  • Advance curation by the team, including two extended site visits

  • The additional services of arts journalists and festival insiders who will guide us to the “hot” tickets

  • A few extra surprises we will announce nearer the event.

Total cost per person will be £1,950/$2,600 single occupancy, £1,600/$2,100 sharing a room. This is what we budget the cost will be to us. Rooms will be allocated in the main castle building or the nearby cottage or farmhouse, according to availability at the time of booking.

Please note: We are limited to just 30 places, and are likely to be oversubscribed. We will prioritise applicants who are actively involved in storytelling in their work. We will curate the group to ensure a diverse mix of lovely people. We welcome partners who engage with the group as active participants.
